Except a three piece suit

For the new logo I wasn’t able to find a good picture of a shirt and suit to use, which reminds me that James Bond never has this kind of problem because he has a team team of hot secretaries. Where are my Adriana Lima look-a-like secretaries and my ball point pens that turn in to orbiting missile command outposts?

The pictures from my road trip are uninteresting and quite blurry because when you make a half hearted effort from behind a car window things are blurry. Or perhaps St. Louis did build a giant bill board over shadowing their famous Arch. I did most of the driving (1600+ miles). Sock Monkey did the reading. My Mom paid for everything. Here is the route we took…

It is very similar to the road map of the Costel del Luz and Sol.

Lessons Learned

1.) There are no restaurants in the entirety of Cleveland since the Pizza Hut closed.
2.) The New York Throughway literally goes through NY and does not stop anywhere except Buffalo, which is by accident.
3.) Canada is too close to America. Can’t there be a buffer zone of mean moose?
4.) You can tell Denny’s isn’t a good restaurant even if you don’t go in.

It is good to be back in Oklahoma, but I’m in a bit of limbo as… my stuff is on the third floor, but I sleep on the first. I live in Ames, but everyone I want to see is in Stillwater. When the evening comes I’m bored as of late and will likely have a certain level of boredom suffered until I’m back in Stillwater.

I posted the previous night that I was retiring from Xanga, and it was going to be true until I realized that I’d then have even less to do. Xanga is great. Video games are great, but there are more rewarding things to be done but none of them are in Ames.

Better posts are up and coming, but first I need to unpack and think of witty things.

Return of the King

We’ve all had it happen. You wake up, go to work, and as you are going to lunch the boss says “Get this… this is soooo funnny. The kind folk (sarcasm people) at Human Resources and I thought it would be neat if this was your last day. Sure, we could have given you two weeks notice, but who really needs that? It isn’t like you were depending on a few more weeks of work in order to pay off the Bursar so you could return to college in the Spring. After lunch you don’t really have to come back in. Oh yea, and if you come back in two days we’ll have thrown everything in your desk away.”

In case you haven’t, I have. It was September 27th. My numbers were good, my customer service amazing, but if you’re not returning in December they would much rather fire you and train someone new. Side note: two weeks notice is not required in this fare state.

In the light of this new situation, which we shall name “hemoraging money”, it was decided the best course of action would be for me to return to Oklahoma, which I was going to do in the spring anyway. Tuesday my mother and I set out in a car to drive from Boston to Ames, Oklahoma.

I’ve had a great time in Boston. I came here quickly, and now I have to depart it quickly. The car ride should be gorgeous though - driving across country in the fall couldn’t be more beautiful in my imagination, and it is with good company.

We leave Tuesday. I will be in Stillwater next weekend… and most weekends after that. See you all soon! I’ll be returning to Xanga as well, but I’ve been stressed out a bit too much by all these sudden changes to feel like blogging much.

I’m actually very happy about coming back. It will be good to see everyone again. And I’ve been craving a pitcher of Boulevard Wheat beer for months.

Who is up for foosball?
