Edit: Because
Yaleelee asked nicely, I’ll start a tic-tac-toe board as well (which I will add after I get back from work). I should probably state a few rules in general for both games…
1.) Once you send a move - unless it isn’t possible - the move cannot be taken back.
2.) Moves may be submitted by e-mail or by comment.
3.) At the end of a match whoever has won must post on their blog at the top “I am humbly defeated and give up O Mighty Conquerer to you, (link to winner’s site here)”.
A Slow Return To Normal Working Hours
Xanga is a great place, but I get frustrated trying to lay out my page exactly the way I want it. This frustration is part of the reason why I have not been on a regular posting schedule. I’m sick and tired of using computer programs/interfaces/etc… that are not well designed, and I feel that compared to some other sites Xanga is ancient and old - though I will never leave it.
Finally, I broke down and put in some effort to become better at CSS. Gone are the days of archaic <table> tags. I feel slightly liberated. If I were a female protester from the era of hippies then it would be the equivalent of removing the itchy tag from a bra. Not quite as liberating as burning the entire bra, but a start. This brings me to a question for the ladies or anyone with experience wearing bras… do bras have itchy tags? My experience with bras does not count wearing them. That is something else I’ve not done in a while… my trademark of randomly bolded words.

I’d do a lot of things for money… eat something gross, plunder a village, or sit in a closet on a children’s chair while wearing a burger king hate, updating my Xanga, and playing improv recorder (hell yea i’m good). But I will not wear a bra. I might for all encompassing power over the entire universe, but even then I’d be hestitant because someone would undoubtedly have a polaroid of it. Why? I’m not sure. But someone would.
Part of this new design is a removal of the “Sites I Read”. Not to be unfaithful to those wonderful Xangans, but for the next week at least those won’t be up. This list is much too long to be displayed in any sort of halfway decent quality. I blame you all - if more of you were less interesting my subscription list could be much shorter.
Remember Kids: Play Safe and Resonsibly
See that area below “Calendar” on the right hand side of the layout that says “Current Chess Game”. Well, I’d like to have a chess game going. If you know how to play (and how to read/write chess moves) feel free to take up the reigns of the black side in this game. I’ll play the first person who comments with their move, and from their we can take it to e-mail, but I will keep a screen shot of the current board and moves in that section.
I’ll update more about New Orleans (complete with photographs) soon. In the mean time I leave you with this wonderful gem…
